Bottle Fame and Brew Glory: Teaching Myself How to Repeat Pattern

One of my biggest enthusiasms lies with pattern design in the creative world of design and illustration and I love to come up with a few things of my own. However, I had never really created a repeat pattern of my own before. - time to set that straight, and what better way to go about it that using one of my biggest influences, Harry Potter!

I took down potions that were mentioned in the Harry Potter series and their book-page-number code down and turned them into potion label details. I then tried to embody the potion's use in the bottle shape and label design.
I did all this by pen. Then I scanned the drawings in and arranged them into the best composition, ready to create it into a repeat tile in photoshop.

Winter Wedding Table Cards

I've been having so much fun developing these animal couple characters for each table card. It's been both fun and a challenge to work out how the animals could interact for their size, shape and literally composition space.
Once again, the same foliage formation has been carried over from the menu, as it will be displayed on the back of each of these table cards. I therefore wanted a seamless flow from one side of the image to the other.

Winter Wedding Menu

Continuing with the winter wedding stationary commission I have been illustrating the set menu, which will be displayed on the back of each table card.

The winter foliage has been bought through from the invitation in a slightly different arrangement that allowed for more cursive typography and filling out the space with the menu text.
